The Emotional Freedom Technique (or EFT) know as “Tapping” is something simple and easy that you can do at home, at work, or even in public. The moment you feel yourself tensing up due to overwhelming worry, anxiety, or stress, simply use your fingertips to tap away the negative energy on specific points on your body. This assures that the negative tension does not physically get caught up in your body, for all those negative emotions can quite literally hold you stuck in a very dark place.

Tapping works by triggering the amygdala, which is the part of our brains that deal with the “Fight or Flight” response. Tapping helps the amygdala send a calming signal to the rest of your body, which in turn helps reduce stress, worry, and anxiety. It literally calms you down and helps you think clearly.

Tapping is not only for the stresses and anxiety of everyday life, however. It is also excellent for deep-rooted traumas and issues. However, as will all therapeutic practices, it is recommended that any deep-rooted work be done by a skilled EFT practitioner as opposed to trying to tackle it yourself. There is a reason that doctors don’t operate on themselves!
